Tasty Garlic Chutney

Time for chutney now.
Chutney is usually  is a spice, sauce or preparation that is added to food to impart a particular flavor, associated with Indian cuisine but its sweet, spicy, tangy flavors work well with recipes from many other cultures.
You would be able to enjoy it with any India and western dish.We will preparing chutney in simple three steps
1.Preparing ingredients.
2.Cook it.
3.Garnish it.


1.Oil (2-3 spoon)
2.Garlic 2-3 bulbs
3.Onion 1 medium
4.Hing (a pinch)
5.Tomato (4-5)
6.Turmeric powder 1/2 tbsp
7.Red chili powder 1 tbsp
8.Coriander powder 3 tbsp
9.Garam Masala 1/4 tbsp
10.Salt to taste

Preparation Method:

Step 1 Preparing ingredients

1. Crushed garlic 2-3 bulbs  using Mortar and pestle ( in Indian kitchen know as Hamam Dasta).
2. Chop tomato’s and onion.

Step 2 – Cooking

1. Turn on flame.
2.Take a pan put oil in it.
3.Add a pinch of hing(Asafoetida).
4.Add chopped onion and saute it.
5.Add garlic saute for a minute .
6.Add tomato and cover it for 4-5 minutes .
7.After 5 minutes add turmeric.
8.Add chili powder.
9.And Garam Masala.
10.Add coriander powder.
11.Add salt.
Saute and cook for 10-15 minutes on low flame.


Step 3 – Garnishing

1. Garnish with coriander leaves.


Time to serve.


Some Tips
1.Crushed Garlic will add additional flavour to chutney. (you can also grate garlic but not preferred by me).
2.Use Mortar and pestle ( in Indian kitchen know as Hamam Dasta)for crushing the garlic bulb.
3.Prepare with love and devotion.
4.Use non stick cooker-ware that will reduce oil in the dish.
5.Use the chutney as garlic spread for other dishes.
